Kindergarten News for the Week of October 21, 2019

Reading
Our Unit 2 essential question is: “What do living things need?”  This week’s story is an informational text called “From Nectar to Honey”.  We will learn about how bees make honey.
We will be focusing on the letters Oo as in off and Ff as in fun.

Math
Our essential question is: “How do we read, write, and count numbers up to 5?”  We will be learning to count a set of objects and demonstrate that the last number said tells the number of objects in the set.

Announcements
We go out for recess every day unless it is raining.  Please remember to send your child to school in a coat so they are not cold when we are playing at recess.

If you have not sent in the $5.00 donation for party money, please do so as soon as possible.  Remember to put it in a labeled envelope.

Scholastic book orders are due on Monday, October 21.

Don’t forget to practice sight words with your child every night!

Red Ribbon Week will take place next week!  The schedule of theme days is listed below.

Our Encore schedule for this week is:
Monday – Day 7 – Music – “We are RED-DY to say no to drugs!” - Wear red from head to toe.
Tuesday – Day 8 – Art – “Being drug free is JEAN-IOUS!” - Wear a Spartan shirt with jeans.
Wednesday –  Day 1 – P.E. – “Staying away from drugs is no sweat!” -  Wear a Spartan shirt with sweatpants.
