Friday,
March 1 will be Read Across America Day to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday! We will be having special visitors from
Bloomsburg University teach our class a lesson.
We will also be doing lots of Dr. Seuss activities and reading Dr. Seuss
books. Please send your child to school
on Friday wearing a RED shirt. We will
be dressing like the “Things” from “The Cat in the Hat”! If you have any Dr. Seuss books at home,
please send them to school with your child throughout the week so we can read
them. Don’t forget to put your name in
the book so we know whose it is!
Don’t forget
to do a quick review of your child’s sight words every night. Remember, students must learn all 96
Kindergarten sight words by the end of the year!
This week we
will be focusing on the letter Gg as in goose.
Show and Tell for the letter Gg will be on Friday, March 1. Please send in one or two items that begin
with Gg.
Our new
Reading story is called “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. We will discuss how an adventure can cause
trouble. This week’s comprehension
strategy is character.
In Math we
will continue to learn about addition.
Our essential question is – “How can objects be joined together?”
