The
Scholastic Book Fair will be held all next week. Family night will be on Monday, May 13 from
4-7pm. Our day to shop in school is
Wednesday, May 15 during Guidance class.
If you would like your child to purchase books, please send book fair
money to school in a labeled envelope by Wednesday, May 15.
On Friday,
May 17, we will be performing a wedding.
The ceremony will join two letters that will be making a new sound
together: Q and U! That day is also a dress down day, but
Kindergarteners are welcome to dress UP!
If you would like, you can dress your child like they are going to a
wedding. Remember, this is just for fun to learn the “qu” sound. Please don’t go to extremes to find or buy
anything. The wedding will be followed
by dancing, so please send your child in comfortable shoes. Thank you!
This week we
will be reviewing the long and short Ee sounds as in eagle and exit. Our new Reading story is called “Building
Beavers.” We will discuss how beavers
build their homes. We will also learn how
to find the main idea of a story.
In Math, we
are working on Unit 8: Coins and Financial Literacy. Our essential questions are: “Why do we have
money?”
and “What is money used for?”
