Kindergarten News for the Week of September 23-27, 2013
School has been in session for almost a month! Can you believe it? Thank you for all of your time and help so
far this year!
Next week we will be starting to learn the letter Hh as in
hat. Please continue to review the
letters Ll, Gg, and Oo with your
child. Your child now has a sight word
pouch in his/her folder. Please review
the enclosed sight words 3-4 times a week and send the pouch back to school
every day. Every time we learn new sight
words I will add more to the pouch so please keep checking for new words.
We will have show and tell on Thursday, September 26. Please help your child find an item or two
around the house that begins with the letter /h/. The items should be small enough to fit in
the brown paper bag that will be sent home next week.
Friday, September 27 will be “Hat Day” to celebrate learning
the letter Hh! Please send your child to
school with a hat to wear. It can be
anything from a baseball cap to a colorful sombrero. Feel free to be creative!
You may want to send in a sweater or jacket for your child
to keep in his/her cubby. Our room is
often chilly due to the constant blowing of our air system. You may also want to send a change of clothes
to be kept in case of spills or accidents.
These are completely optional and up to you!
Please continue to help your child memorize his/her 4 digit
student ID. The number can be found on
his/her bus tag and folder. This number
is important to know so your child can order lunch, log onto the computer, and
check out books from the library. Thank
you for your help!
Our specials schedule for the week is:
Monday – Day 4 - Computers
Tuesday – Day 5 –Art
Wednesday – Day 1 – Library
Thursday – Day 2 – Music
Friday – Day 3 - Gym (Don’t forget to wear sneakers!)
Please let me know if you or your child needs anything!
