Kindergarten News for the Week of March 2, 2015

Kindergarten News for the Week of March 2, 2015

North Schuylkill Elementary will be cracking down on the dress code beginning this week.  Please review the dress code and be sure your child’s outfit adheres to the policy.  Please note that NO hoodies will be permitted during the school day.  If your child gets cold during the day, please send in a sweater with no hood.  Also, leggings are not permitted unless they are worn under a skirt.  Thank you for your attentiveness in this matter.
The NSE Chinese Auction will be held on April 11 and April 12.  Each classroom will be making a basket to be auctioned off.  Our class theme is “Game Night”.  If you would like to donate, please send in games for our basket by March 27.  They can be board games, card games or other games that a family can play together.  The classroom from each grade whose basket has the most tickets at the end of the auction will receive an ice cream party for their classroom.  Thank you in advance for your donation!

We have had lots of runny noses this year and are running very low on tissues.  If you have any extra boxes of tissues at home and would like to donate them to our classroom, we would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you to the families who have already donated tissues!
This week we will be continuing to learn about the letter Ll as in lion, but we will concentrate on Ll in the medial position of words.  There will be no show and tell for the letter Ll.

Our Reading story this week is “One Little Mouse”.  We will discuss what adventures animals can have.  We will also learn about sequence.
In Math, we will begin our new topic about numbers to 100.

Our specials schedule for the week is:
Monday – Day 3 – Gym (Remember your sneakers!)

Tuesday – Day 4 - Computers
Wednesday – Day 5 – Art

Thursday – Day 1 – Library (Remember your book!)
Friday – Day 2 – Music

Please let me know if you or your child needs anything.  Have a lovely week!
