There will be no school on Friday, April 18 due to Easter
break. Please note that April 17, 21,
22, and 23 are now full student days to make up for our snow days.
Monday, April 21 is Teens Against Tobacco Day. We will be walking to the baseball field to
learn about why tobacco is harmful.
After that we will play a game together.
Please dress your child in gym clothes on Monday as the game will most
likely involve running. Now that we have finished learning all of the letters of the alphabet, we will begin learning different rules and combinations that will help us to read. This week we will be starting to learn the long vowel rules in which a, e, i, o, and u say their own name.
Our field trip to the Pioneer Tunnel in Ashland will be on May 28th with a rain date of May 29th. Homeroom helpers, please keep in mind that if you do not have your 2 credits of PTO activity you will not be permitted to attend the trip. You can fulfill your credits by attending PTO meetings or helping at the school store. If you have any questions about how many credits you need, please contact me or the PTO.
Now that Daylight Saving Time has passed, students are
permitted to wear shorts/skirts to school again when the weather is
appropriate. Just a reminder, gym
clothes may only be worn on gym day. On
Fridays a Spartan shirt may be worn, but please dress your child in dress code
appropriate pants on Fridays. Thank you!
