Kindergarten News for the Week of March 26, 2018

There will be no school on Friday, March 30 due to the holiday break.  Enjoy your long weekend!

The PTO is holding a Chinese Auction again this year as a fundraiser.  Each class is doing a themed basket.  Our basket theme is “Crayola”.  We are asking that parents donate an item or items to contribute to our class basket.  You can send any Crayola item, not only crayons or markers.  Please send in your item before Friday, April 6.  Any student who donates will receive a ticket for a free dress down day on April 6.  Thank you in advance for your donation!  The classroom from each grade whose basket has the most tickets at the end of the auction will receive an ice cream party!!

Don’t forget to do a quick review of your child’s sight words every night.  Remember, students must learn all 96 Kindergarten sight words by the end of the year!

This week we will be continuing to learn about the letter Xx as in x-ray.  Due to the recent snow days, show and Tell will be postponed until Wednesday, March 28.  There are not many words that begin with x, so please send in something that ENDS with x on Wednesday.

Our Reading story is called “Mayday! Mayday!”.  We will discuss what kinds of transportation help us in an emergency.  We will also learn about cause and effect.

In Math we will be learning about subtraction.

Our specials schedule for the week is:
Monday –Day 5 – Computers
Tuesday – Day 6 – Art
Wednesday – Day 7 – Guidance
Thursday – Day 8 – Phys. Ed. (Remember your sneakers!)
Friday – No School!

Please let me know if you or your child needs anything.  Have a wonderful weekend!
