Kindergarten News for the Week of March 12, 2018

The 2-hour data delay scheduled for March 14 has been cancelled.  There will be no more data delays for the remainder of the school year.

Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 11.  Don't forget to change your clocks!  Shorts are allowed beginning on Monday, but please watch the weather report before you send your child in shorts.  This time of year can still get chilly!

Friday, March 16 is a paid dress down day with a donation of $1.00.

The PTO is holding a Basket Auction again this year as a fundraiser.  Each class is doing a themed basket.  Our basket theme is “Crayola”.  We are asking that parents send in an item or items to contribute to our class basket.  Please send any Crayola product that you can find, such as crayons, markers, coloring books, finger paints, etc.  Please send your items as by April 6. Thank you in advance for your participation!

Don’t forget to do a quick review of your child’s sight words every night.  Remember, students must learn all 96 Kindergarten sight words by the end of the year!

This week we will be learning the letter Jj.  Show and Tell will be on Friday, March 16.

Our new Reading story is called “Max Takes the Train”.  We will discuss different ways of going places.  We will also learn about realism and fantasy.

In Math we will be continuing to learn about joining groups.

Our specials schedule for the week is:

Tuesday – Day 8 – Phys. Ed. (Don’t forget your sneakers!)
