Kindergarten News
for the Week of March 25, 2019
The PTO is
holding a Basket Auction again this year as a fundraiser. Each class is contributing a themed basket. Our basket theme is “Crayola”. We are asking that parents send in an item or
items to contribute to our class basket.
There are many Crayola products available such as crayons, markers,
coloring books, finger paints, etc. Please
send your items to school by April 12. Thank
you to those of you who have already donated!
Spring
pictures will be taken on Tuesday, March 26.
Please send in your background choice by that date. Pictures will be available for purchase 7-10
days after pictures are taken. Students
may dress up, but please keep the dress code in mind (no jeans or writing on
shirts, etc.).
Kindergarten
graduation pictures will be taken on Thursday, April 4. Every student will have their picture taken
even if you don’t want to buy a package.
If you are purchasing a package, please return your child’s order form
and payment by Wednesday, April 3.
Students should wear a white collared shirt. Girls should not wear their hair up high
since they will be wearing caps.
Due to the
cold and windy weather we have had many students with chapped lips. You are welcome to send a tube of chapstick
in your child’s backpack in case they need it.
This week we
will be focusing on the letter Ww as in water. Show and Tell for the letter Ww will be on
Friday, March 29. Please send in one or
two items that begin with the letter Ww.
Our new
Reading story is called “Mayday! Mayday!
A Coast Guard Rescue.” We will discuss what
kinds of transportation help us in an emergency. Our comprehension skill is cause and effect.
In Math we
will be continuing our unit on subtraction.
Our essential question is “How can numbers be taken apart?”
