Kindergarten News for the Week of March 6, 2017

There will be a 2 hour data delay on Wednesday, March 8.

Spring pictures will be taken on Thursday, March 9.  Please turn in the picture form from PSP as soon as possible.  Every child will get their picture taken regardless of if they will be purchasing pictures.

The PTO is holding a Chinese Auction again this year as a fundraiser.  Each class is doing a themed basket.  Our basket theme is “I Want Candy!”.  We are asking that parents send in an item or items to contribute to our class basket.  Please send any kind of candy.  The candy can be any brand or size.  Please send in your items before March 27, 2017.  Thank you in advance for your donation!  The classroom from each grade whose basket has the most tickets at the end of the auction will receive an ice cream party!!

Don’t forget to do a quick review of your child’s sight words every night.  Remember, students must learn all 96 Kindergarten sight words by the end of the year!

This week we will be continuing to learn about the letter Ee as in egg.  There will be no show and tell this week.

Our new Reading story is called “Abuela”.  We will discuss what kinds of adventures you can have in the city.  We will also learn about setting.

In Math we will be learning to compose and decompose numbers to 10.

Our specials schedule for the week is:
Monday –Day 4 -Computers
Tuesday – Day 5 – Book Exchange (Remember your books!)
Wednesday – Day 6 – Art
Thursday – Day 7 – Gym (Don’t forget your sneakers!)
Friday – Day 8 – Music

Please let me know if you or your child need anything.  Have a fantastic weekend!
