Congratulations, you made it through the first week of
Kindergarten! Hold on tight because this
year will fly by!
There will be no school on Monday, September 4. Enjoy your long weekend!
Next week we will begin our first Reading story, “The Little
School Bus”. We will discuss how children
get to school. We will also learn about
characters. A few new letters will be
introduced this week (Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, and Ee) and we will come back later in
the year to learn about them in more detail.
In Math we will be learning how to classify, count, and
categorize objects.
All children need a snack and drink every day. Snack time is at 2:45. In order to eliminate
confusion about whether something is a snack or a drink, you may want to pack
your child’s lunch in a regular lunchbox and his/her snack in a paper bag
marked “snack”. Some children have eaten
snack for lunch when they were supposed to eat in the cafeteria!
You may want to send in a sweater or jacket for your child
to keep in his/her cubby. Our room is
often chilly due to the constant blowing of our air system. You may also want to send a change of clothes
to be kept in case of spills or accidents.
These are completely optional and up to you.
Please make sure your child has his/her bus tag each day. We want everyone to get home safely and some
children do not know their full name ---let alone address, phone number, etc.
Our Specials schedule for next week is:
Monday – Labor Day – No School!
Tuesday – Day 6 –Art
Wednesday – Day 7 – Guidance
Thursday – Day 8 – Gym (Remember your sneakers!)
Friday – Day 9 - Music
Please let me know if you or your child need anything. Have a fantastic long weekend!
