Kindergarten News for the Week of November 14, 2016

The North Schuylkill Accelerated Reader Program will be having a fundraiser on Thursday, November 17 at the St. Clair Taco Bell.  It will run from 5-8pm.  Please come out and support our school if you are able.  Taco Bell will donate 15% of your purchase to the Accelerated Reader Program!

On Thursday, November 17 we will be participating in a Personal Body Safety presentation.  It will be presented by SARCC.  If you would like to exclude your child from attending the presentation, please send a note to the school.

Friday, November 18 will be a Spartan Dress Down Day.  Students may wear jeans or sweatpants.  The suggested donation is $1.00.

Scholastic Book Orders are due on Wednesday, November 16.

Kindergarten will be going out to recess every day that the weather is above freezing.  Please send your child to school in appropriate clothing.  This time of year a winter coat, gloves, and a hat are necessary.  If your child does not wear a coat, he/she will not be allowed to go outside for recess.

This week we will focus on the letter Ii as in igloo.  Show and Tell for the letter Ii will be on Friday, November 18.  A paper bag with the letter Ii on it will be sent home in your child’s folder on Thursday.  Please send the bag back to school on Friday with one or two small items that start with Ii.   Please note that the items must be small enough to fit inside the brown paper bag.  Thank you for your help!

Our new Reading story is called “A Bed for the Winter”.  We will discuss what kind of home an animal needs.  We will also learn about sequence.

In Math we will continue learning the numbers 6-10.

Our specials schedule for the week is:
Monday –Day 1 – Art
Tuesday – Day 2 – Gym (Remember your sneakers!)
Wednesday – Day 3 – Music
Thursday – Day 4 – Computers
Friday – Day 5 – Book Exchange (Don’t forget your book!)

Please let me know if you or your child need anything.  Have a spectacular weekend!
