Kindergarten News for the Week of May 23, 2016

Kindergarten Graduation will take place in the High School Auditorium at 6:00pm on Tuesday, May 24.  Kindergarten students should arrive at the High School Gymnasium between 5:15 and 5:45.  We ask that parents do NOT enter the gymnasium.  All students must wear a white collared shirt.  Girls should not wear anything in their hair since they will be wearing caps.  Graduation tickets were sent home with your child today (Friday, May 20).  Please keep the tickets in a safe place as no one will be admitted without a ticket.  More information will be in your child’s folder on Monday.

Carnival Day will be on Friday, May 27.  We will be outside for most of the day and the forecast looks like it will be about 80 degrees!  Please apply sunscreen to your child before you send them to school.  You may also pack sunscreen to reapply later in the day.

This week we will be reviewing the letter Uu and its long sound as in unicorn.  There will be no Show and Tell for the remainder of the year.

Our new Reading story is called “Alistair and Kip’s Great Adventure!”  We will discuss what friends can build together.  We will also learn about plot.

In Math we will be moving on to a variety of first grade topics geared toward preparing your child for next year.

Our specials schedule for the week is:
Monday –Day 10 – Library (All books should already be returned)
Tuesday – Day 1 – Art
Wednesday – Day 2 – Gym (Don’t forget your sneakers!)
Thursday – Day 3 – Music
Friday – Day 4 - Computers

Please let me know if you or your child need anything.  Have a wonderful weekend!
