Kindergarten News for the Week of May 16, 2016

Monday, May 16 is “Kick Butts Day”!  We will discuss why we should say no to tobacco use.  We will be playing fun games outside with some of the high school members of Teens Against Tobacco, therefore students will be permitted to wear gym clothes to school on Monday.

Kindergarten Graduation will take place on Tuesday, May 24 at 6:00pm in the High School Auditorium.  Graduation tickets will be sent home on Friday, May 20.  No family members will be admitted without a ticket.  Graduating Kindergarten students and children under 5 who can fit on their parent’s lap do not need a ticket to enter.  More information will be sent home next week.

This week we will be reviewing the letter Ee and its long sound as in eagle.  There will be no Show and Tell for the remainder of the year.

Our new Reading story is called “Building Beavers.”  We will discuss how beavers build their homes.  We will also learn about main idea.

In Math we will be learning to classify and categorize data.

Our specials schedule for the week is:
Monday –Day 5 – Guidance
Tuesday – Day 6 – Art
Wednesday – Day 7 – Gym (Don’t forget your sneakers!)
Thursday – Day 8 – Music
Friday – Day 9 - Computers

Please let me know if you or your child need anything.  Have a wonderful weekend!
