Kindergarten News for the Week of February 1, 2016

The 100th Day of School is quickly approaching!  We will be having our 100th Day celebration on Friday, February 5 as long as there are no snow days.  We are asking that students dress like they are 100 years old.  Please send students to school in grandma or grandpa type attire: reading glasses, canes, walkers, button up sweaters, pearls, loafers, etc.  You can even put a little powder in your child’s hair to make it look gray.  Use your imagination!

Don’t forget to do a quick review of your child’s sight words every night.  Remember, students must learn all 96 Kindergarten sight words by the end of the year!

This week we will be focusing on the letter Hh as in hat.  Show and Tell for the letter Hh will be on Friday, February 5.

Our new Reading story is called “Rooster’s Off to See the World”.  We will discuss what we can learn from our adventures.  We will also learn about sequence.

In Math we will begin learning about numbers to 20.

Our specials schedule for the week is:
Monday –Day 4 - Computers
Tuesday – Day 5 – Guidance
Wednesday – Day 6 – Art
Thursday – Day 7 – Gym (Don’t forget your sneakers!)
Friday – Day 8 – Music

Please let me know if you or your child needs anything.  Have a fantastic weekend!
