Kindergarten News for the Week of March 23, 2015

Happy Spring!  The class is excited for all of the snow to be gone so we can enjoy some warm weather and outside recess.
Scholastic Book Orders were sent home this week and are due back on Wednesday, March 25.  Remember, for every book purchased our classroom receives free books to build our library.

The NSE Chinese Auction will be held on April 11 and April 12.  Each classroom will be making a basket to be auctioned off.  Our class theme is “Game Night”.  If you would like to donate, please send in games for our basket by March 27.  They can be board games, card games or other games that a family can play together.  The classroom from each grade whose basket has the most tickets at the end of the auction will receive an ice cream party for their classroom.  Thank you to those of you who have already sent in games!
This week we will be continuing to learn about the letter Ee as in elephant.  There will be no show and tell this week.

Our Reading story this week is “If You Could Go to Antarctica”.  We will discuss what it would be like to have an Antarctic adventure.  We will also learn about classifying and categorizing.
In Math, we will continue our new topic about understanding addition.

Our specials schedule for the week is:

Monday – Day 3 – Gym
Tuesday – Day 4 - Computers

Wednesday – Day 5 – Art

Thursday – Day 1– Library

Friday – Day 2 – Music

Please let me know if you or your child need anything.  Have an excellent week!
