Kindergarten News
for the Week of January 7, 2019
Welcome
back! I hope you all had a fun-filled
holiday break!
Don’t forget
to do a quick review of your child’s sight words every night. Remember, students must learn all 96
Kindergarten sight words by the end of the year!
Cold season
is in full force and we are in desperate need of tissues for our classroom. If you are willing to donate a box it would
be GREATLY appreciated. Also, if your
child has a runny nose, it may be a good idea to send in an individual pack of
tissues for him/her so we can cut down on the spread of germs. Thank you!
Scholastic
Book Orders are due on Friday, January 11.
This week we
will be focusing on the letter Dd as in dinosaur. Instead of Show and Tell this week, your
child will get to teach the class about a dinosaur. This is a very exciting project for our
Kindergarteners! Students will present
their projects on Friday, January 11.
Please check your child’s folder for more information. Thank you in advance for your assistance with
this project!
Our new
Reading story is called “Farfallina and Marcel”. We will discuss what happens when animals
change. Our comprehension strategy this
week will be plot.
In Math we
will be learning to compare numbers from 0-10.
