This week we
will focus on the letter Aa as in apple.
Show and Tell for the letter Aa will be on Friday, October 23. A paper bag with the letter Aa on it will be
sent home in your child’s folder on Thursday.
Please send the bag back to school on Friday with one or two small items that start with Aa. Please note that the items must be small
enough to fit inside the brown paper bag.

Our new
Reading story is called “Flowers”. We
will discuss how flowers are unique, as well as discuss comparing and
contrasting.
Please
continue to review the sight words in your child’s folder every night. The words are tested each Friday. Once your child masters a list, a new one
will be put in their folder.
In Math we
will begin learning about numbers from 0-10.
The NSE
Scholastic Book Fair is this week! There
will be a family shopping night on Monday, October 19 from 4-7pm. We will also shop as a class on Friday,
October 23. If you would like your child
to purchase a book from the fair, please send a labeled envelope with book
money inside. It is also helpful to send
along a list of books you would like your child to purchase.
The NSE Fall
Celebration will take place on Friday, October 30. There will be a parade around the track in
the football stadium beginning at 1:30.
All are invited. Students are
welcome to wear costumes and there will be prizes given out to the best dressed
in each grade!
If you have
not sent in $5.00 for party money, please do so as soon as possible. The money is used for purchasing snacks and
goodies for classroom parties (Halloween and Valentine’s Day).
