May 6-10

Next week in Phonics we will be learning the two sounds of digraph oo, as in hook and tooth.

In Math we will be identifying and matching equivalent sets, identifying doubles, acting out “some, some more” stories, estimating and measuring the capacity of containers, writing numerals to 30, solving a problem by guessing and checking, and drawing pictures for “some, some more” stories.

In Reading we will be discussing how homes help us survive and enjoy life.  Our new story is called “Old MacDonald had a Woodshop”.  We will also be learning how to identify and describe characters.

Word List #24 will be sent home today and tested on Friday, May 10.  Please remember to practice the words every night with your child.  From now on, if everybody in the class reads all of the words correctly, we will get a treat!

If you would like to order a DVD of Graduation, all order forms are due by Wednesday, May 8.  No orders will be accepted after that date.

The weekly specials schedule is:
Monday – Day 2 - Music
Tuesday – Day 3 – Gym ( Don’t forget your sneakers!)
Wednesday – Day 4 - Computers
Thursday – Day 5 - Art
Friday  - Day 1 – Library (Remember your books!)

If you ever have any questions, please contact me by phone or e-mail.

Have an excellent weekend!
